Alp Kemaloğlu

Sunday Talks Coordinator   

A third-year student at Istanbul University’s Psychology Department, Alp Kemaloğlu joined the moderator team as a volunteer after completing the Sunday Talks Moderator Training in June 2018. In addition to being a moderator, he has been serving as the coordinator of Sunday Talks since October 2018. His interests include LGBTQ + psychology, and in particular community-centered programs and interventions.


Eda Yurt

Finance Officer

Throughout her dynamic career, Eda Yurt has contributed to different NGOs such as the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Oy ve Ötesi (OveO), and AIESEC. She holds a CPA certificate as well as an Independent Auditing and Capital Market Activities license. Eda holds a master's degree in finance and a bachelor's degree in economics. As SPoD’s finance supervisor, she believes she will be able to contribute to the organization through her diverse professional experience.


Evra Çetin

Academic Studies Co-Coordinator

Evra Çetin earned her bachelor’s degree in Law from Marmara University, her master’s degree in Public Law from Istanbul University, and her doctoral degree in Public Law from Marmara University. She continues her academic studies in the Department of General Public Law at the Faculty of Law at Okan University. She has volunteered in various non-governmental organizations. Between October 2017 and March 2018, Evra served as a member of the Board of Directors at SPoD. She is currently a member of SPoD’s Board of Auditors and the co-coordinator of SPoD’s academic studies.


Görkem Aypar

Psychological Counsel, Supervisor

Görkem Aypar completed his bachelor’s degree at Boğaziçi University with a major in psychology and a minor in cinema studies. Additionally, he has a  graduate degree from Okan University in clinical psychology. During his university education, he interned in psychology at Erenköy Psychiatric Hospital and in neuroscience at Copenhagen University. Görkem also worked as a volunteer at Bakırköy Women’s Counseling House for a year during his graduate studies. His dissertation focused on the experiences of exclusion, discrimination and othering of trans people living in Istanbul and their coping mechanisms. His dissertation was published as an article. He was previously a volunteer at Lambdaistanbul and joined SPoD’s workshop to take part in the consultancy network. He continued his consultancy services during this time. Görkem received training in Lacanian psychoanalysis and co-founded the Turkish Lacanian Forum Psychoanalytical Association. Görkem worked as a language editor in the journal Psycho-cultural Analysis. He favors a psychoanalytic approach in psychology and continues to work as a psychological consultant and helpline supervisor at SPoD.


Melih Ateş

Office Coordinator

Melih Ateş continues his education in Media and Communication at Istanbul University. Since 2014, he has been working in various NGOs in the areas of disability rights, sustainable development goals and youth. He provides consulting to civil society organizations in organizational development, capacity building, volunteer management and financial sustainability. Between 2015 and 2018, he was the General Secretary of a foundation for autistic people. Since March 2018, he has been serving as the Chairman of the Supervisory Board for Sil Baştan Association: Combating Violence against Women and Child Abuse. He continues to work at SPoD as the office coordinator.


Mustafa Sarıyılmaz

General Coordinator

Mustafa Sarıyılmaz graduated from Ankara University’s Sinology Department in 2012. Having first become involved in youth work in 2006, Mustafa has worked in the Ministry of Youth and Sports both in both a professional and volunteer capacity. His work focuses on informing and empowering youth at a national and international level. Since 2009, he has carried out projects in different parts of Anatolia, and worked on raising awareness of LGBTI+ youth by connecting them with LGBTI+ associations. Mustafa has been part of projects surrounding refugees for a long time and connected with SPoD in March 2017 through the Activism Program. He has been participating in SPoD projects as a volunteer since. He served as the Treasurer of SPoD’s executive board between November 2017 and March 2018, and as the Vice Chairman between March and August 2018. He currently works as the general coordinator of SPoD.


Sevcan Tiftik

Academic Studies Co-Coordinator

Sevcan Tiftik graduated from the Department of Turkish Language and Literature at Balıkesir University’s Necatibey Faculty of Education. She completed her master’s degree in Turkish Literature at İhsan Doğramacı Bilkent University and wrote a thesis entitled Comparative Queer Readings: Queer Potentials in the Texts of Kulin, Mungan and Toptaş. Currently, she is a Ph.D. student in General Sociology and Methodology at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. Sevcan’s academic studies focus on namely the body and being disabled and queer, as well as the influence of feminism, critical masculinity, and gender studies in Turkish literature. Her articles have been published on various platforms such as Kanat, Kaos Queer +, Kaos GL, Poetry, Post Journal, Global Literature in Libraries Initiative, Sabitfikir and K24. Her relationship with SPoD began on the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia 2018; since then she has been working as a volunteer at SPoD and as of February 2019 she has been volunteering as the Co-Coordinator of Academic Studies.


Zeynep Kayacan

Hotline Co-Coordinator

Zeynep Kayacan is a graduate of Penn State University, Department of Psychology. Since 2012, she has been working in different NGOs focusing on rights and education. Until 2016, she worked as a trainer on projects supporting the physical and psychosocial development of children with disabilities at the Turkish Equestrian Federation. She joined SPoD’s Sunday Talks as a moderator in 2016 and its helpline as a volunteer the following year. Zeynep completed the SPoD Activism Program in 2017 and began participating in the organization’s LGBTI + mental health and psychosocial support activities. As of June 2018, she has been the co-coordinator of SPoD’s helpline. Since November 2018, she has been working as the coordinator of the Sexual Health Education program at the Turkish Family Health and Planning Foundation; she continues to give workshops on sexual health and gender equality.
