Researches of SPoD

SPoD Academy produces data ascertaining individuals who are discriminated by their sexual orientation and gender identity through surveys, field work and oral history technics. There are two large scaled field researches in this context.

“Social and Economical Problems of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transexual (LGBT) Individual in Turkey Research” realized in 2014 by SPoD had 2,875 participants. Within the scope of the research there were 14 focus group discussions more than 200 people attended in 10 cities (Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Eskişehir, Gaziantep, Trabzon, Adana, Antalya, Mersin and Edirne). You can reach the results by clicking here.

The study realized in 2016 was focused on “Trans Women’s ‘Alternative’ Work Experiences”. 15 trans women were profoundly interviewed, 13 in Istanbul and 2 in Mersin working in different jobs and sectors, within field research between October 2015 – September 2016. You can reach the results byclicking here.
